Ok here it is I have a 06 LJ with 4in short arm lift and 33's. The dana 44 front and rear with 4:10 and the rear is spooled. I noticed a wobble in my rear left tire the other day while on the high way. I couldn't feel any vibration or wobble but saw it(had the doors off) when changing lanes. I pulled over and checked the lug nuts and all were tight and accounted for. I then thought maybe it was an illusion due to dirt and dis-coloration on the tire. I washed the wheel and tire and am still seeing the wobble. Could this be from the spool? Could it be a bent shaft? When I put the spool in it about 1 month ago I had a friend helping me and that is the side he put back together(while I did the passenger side). Im not getting any noise as if to hint the bearing is going bad so I would assume that everything is tight. Would tire balance be a issue with this? I did a forum search but everything had to do with front end wobble so if it is out there then sorry for the double post. So what else could it be? Just wanted to get some ideas before I tear it down this weekend to check it all out. O I forgot to add that there are no leaks on the inside of the tire.

Likely a bent wheel, especially if you have cheap steel wheels. If you can't feel any vibration from it then I would just let it be. Keep it on the rear if you rotate tires. You might eventually notice some uneven tire wear on that tire, though.

by cheap steel wheel do you mean procomp 51's?

yea they were on it when I bought it Im the second owner so I will just swap it out with the spare and see if that helps. I still plan to maker sure the 4 axle bolts are all tight but I sure I would have some kind of a leak if they wernt.

^^^^ the simple test would be to swap on a different wheel and see if it still wobbles.....like you said above. Unsure of why you haven't done that already though.....?

rotate your tires see if the woble goes away, if not take a look at the axle shaft

semi floats have retainer plates as well=bent. should leak if its really bent though.

Ok still no leaks and no vibration even at 75mph. The tire balanced out fine but just to be sure I swapped rims and balanced again. When I had it apart I put the lug nuts back on to hold the rotor in place and I slowly turned it and there is about a 4in section the clearly gets closer to the dust plate at the top. I then pulled the rear axle and the bearing looks good. It was hard to tell if the axle was bent (due to the the larger diameter near the end) when rolling it across a metal table. So how can I check the axle for sure(a lathe)? And could the axle tube be bent instead of the axle and would that cause these issuse? These are the stock dana 44 30 spline axles. What should be my next course of action? Thanks for the advice.

this same situation happened to a buddy of mine. 05 rubi TJ...the hub on the rear axle shaft was bent from the lug bolts being pressed in.
because you only have 33s and you arent having any problems with it, you should be fine for a while. i would buy a new shaft and replace it soon though. all that wobbling will result in failed bearings and the like.
otherwise, put the "bent" rim on the front and see if you can feel the wobble in the steering wheel.
good luck.
