What is the best way to mount rocker guards? I have already removed the plastic trim, mounting tabs and folded the body seam under. I have 1/4" 4x4 angle iron to use as guards, but am wondering how to attach. I've seen rigs that have them rivited (looks to be about 15 rivits) to the side of the tub, and I've seen others welded to the body mount outriggers. I don't think doing both would work, as the tub flexes slightly different than the frame, and would tear the rivits. Any real world suggestions?
Thanks

It depends are they for looks or are they for bashing? I've seen people bolt them through the body, weld and rivet them. I think by looking at all three welding them held up best.

i did that on the old zook,i took 1/4 x 2" and ran it between the frame and 4" angle and welded...
the body keeps it from moving anywhere...
always thought it looked clean

nutserts to the body, countersunk socket head 1/4-20 bolts, supported by skids would be good to go.

I drilled four holes on the side, 3 holes underneath and bolted them on. Worked fine, real hard landings did start to bend the tub.

Cut the rocker area out completely and TIG a 2x2 or 3x2 piece of square tubing into the void - giving it a slight angle for aeshtetics.

I think i'm gonna try the nutserts, and some sort of frame tie-in. I'd rather not cut anymore of the body as it was just painted. Maybe I should have planned this out better:shaking:
