Ok, didnt get much action on this over on General Discussion so i'll open it up to you chevy guys..

ok, had some slop in my chevy dana 60 passenger side knuckle so i decided to tear off into it. the lower bearing is tight and looks good, the teflon cone looks good on top..only thing i can think of is the spring has fatigued. I cant find that thing anywhere locally, i will have to wait to the end of the week to get the part from boyce equipment.

My question is, could i put a couple of large washers on top of that spring and let the washers act like a spacer between the top cap and the spring to take up the slack in the spring until i can get one in and tear it apart again. i have it tore apart and need to get it back together to move it but i would like to take the slop out of the knuckle.. any opions on why this wouldnt work..

and i know, just wait and get a spring, but i had to pull my arb out of the front to put a new o-ring in, and i need to get it back together tomorrow, but wanted to temporarily fix the slop....

I think you should just sell that rig of yours...too many fatigued parts!

well, i used 2 washers on each side and they worked great.. the knuckle now feels tight, but not too tight.. i started out putting 4 washers in and it was way too tight...took it down to 2 and worked great..
