Some of you might know me from CK5 forum. ive always done the full size thing and am considered pretty good in my field of full size rigs (domestics) now that im going for a change i need to know what to look out for on these things as far as weak points like frame axles and so on (and yes i still have the Jimmy, the wife goes before that thing.) i was hoping you guys can guide me in the right path as far as where to get parts and so on. i just bought an 87? you need toyota axles with that engine and tires...
and stretch the front at least a foot, which means linking it...
spool the rear and lockrite the front for now(inexpensive and they work pretty well)
4.88's because you will end up with 39.5's anyhow..:D mtc

fj60 is offset... but don't overlook a regular mini truck centered axle with a good toy driveshaft.

No factory mini truck stuff with an offset...
I run a FSJ Cherokee Chief "Wide-Trac" offset Dana 44 rear...matches perfectly with the T-case.
These offset rear ends were behind the "Qudra-Trac" cased Heeps.

the d44 is wider but heavy, the toy is narrow but lighter. its all about what you can get hold of. and what you want to spend. the toy axles can be built to handle the motor you re looking at and so can the d44. i like the toy there easy to find parts for. some of the d44's have odd parts! the wide trac jeeps are getting hard to find parts for. the waggy's are a god start but you get over the 37" and now your going cryoed cromo's with ctm joints. with the toy your going the same way with the rear, and longs in the front.
