: New Toy: Charter Arms U.C. Lite 38spl
usmcdoc14 11-05-2008, 03:55 PM been looking for a revolver and at $350 I could not walk away from a snub nosed aluminum frame 38 that can handle +P.
even if it is red and silver :flipoff2:
http://www.charterfirearms.com/images/products/prod_pgs/53823.gif
The Taurus I was handling felt gritty and shit next to it. Took it to the range and was easily doing 4" groups with no effort at 15 yards.
And its a certified "killer" brand
any one else have one? complaints?
Should I duracoat or leave it red
Sarah Palin 11-05-2008, 04:13 PM See what happens when you put a few full load .357 magnums thorugh it.
usmcdoc14 11-05-2008, 04:16 PM See what happens when you put a few full load .357 magnums thorugh it.
I will do that as soon as you show me your tits :flipoff2:
someone forget to log off their "humor" screen name?
Loveday 11-05-2008, 04:25 PM Just admit it, man. You bought that pimp stoker in celebration of Obama's victory.
usmcdoc14 11-05-2008, 04:26 PM Just admit it, man. You bought that pimp stoker in celebration of Obama's victory.
No, then I would have got the Taurus as it was black and gold :grinpimp:
Loveday 11-05-2008, 04:29 PM Dear Lord.
poolville02 11-05-2008, 06:09 PM would this be good for ccw? how concealable? I like the price thats for sure.
mark_w 11-05-2008, 06:36 PM can you use it to chop down trees?
usmcdoc14 11-05-2008, 06:51 PM would this be good for ccw? how concealable? I like the price thats for sure.
as concealable as any snub nose revolver:
VERY
Its 12oz (and you can get a spurless hammer if you so desire, it appears). But even with the regular hammer you would forget the thing is there. Run some +P JHP or some Buffalo Bore 38 special ammo and whatever you hit should not get up
Sights are small but still usable, the factory grip is good but a softer one would be welcome as well.
usmcdoc14 11-05-2008, 06:52 PM can you use it to chop down trees?
small ones, or it would take a while :flipoff2:
kwrangln 11-05-2008, 07:09 PM Should I duracoat or leave it red
Leave it red, it'll go with the migo.:flipoff2:
1tonIHs2 11-05-2008, 08:43 PM My lady friend wants a pink one. They seem pretty decent. I really thought I could get a better price then the $350 considering I bought my taurus for $275 new.
They are awesome to carry FWIW.
NCtoy76 11-05-2008, 09:14 PM cheap ones, http://www.centerfiresystems.com/AC-M200.aspx
FlexCJ5 11-05-2008, 10:39 PM I have the gold/yellow one. Was told not to run too much +P through it.
I like taurus 650 better. 2 for 1 .357 and 38
I bought my wife one of Taurus 605 2" 38/357's and put hogue grips on it. 16oz and you can shoot 357 mag rounds in it  ( I load 125gr HP 38sp +p for her). I just loaded some full power 158gr 357 rounds to try out

I carry a 2" version of the Taurus tracker in .44 mag. It's 32 OZ, which is a handful with hot loads(22gr H110) of 300gr Unicores  . It's nice and light to carry hunting though.

Yup.
Leave it red, it'll go with the migo.:flipoff2:
Leave it red, it looks good
I'm getting a derringer to keep in my pocket so it can buy me time to get my 45 out of my bag

Like I said the Taurus felt like ass. All of them I tried felt gritty as fuck in double action. Otherwise I may have left with one of them.
cheap ones, http://www.centerfiresystems.com/AC-M200.aspx
Thats a "drop" gun
I have the gold/yellow one. Was told not to run too much +P through it.

says +p rated and a lifetime warranty
I never wanted a 357, I wanted a 38 and then something HUGE
ItsaCJ6 11-06-2008, 05:24 PM I think all DA revolvers need trigger work.
afroman006 11-06-2008, 05:37 PM I think all DA revolvers need trigger work.
Ever shot a Colt Python?
usmcdoc14 11-06-2008, 05:41 PM I think all DA revolvers need trigger work.
This one needed a light stoning to get rid of a burr and it was good to go.
I could have just dry fired it a shit-ton and done the same thing
Never Monday 11-06-2008, 05:46 PM I saw a pink one today and thought of you :flipoff2:
It looked nice, and was light. Not for me though
Halogrinder 11-06-2008, 06:38 PM i love my .357 tracker and so does the wifey :D

The finish work can be a little rough on the Taurus, I pulled the action cover and grips off both mine and sprayed out the action to clean up the machining flakes :shaking:. Not a bad gun for the $$, just make sure and check it out really well before leaving the gun store with one. Both my Taurus pistols were bought to carry a lot and shoot a little(short, small, and lite weight). I usually take my S&W 629 to the range.
COVEJEEPSXJ 02-25-2009, 04:17 AM Doc, Any updates on the Charter? Any problems? I am looking for an affordable snubnose for CC. Thanks.
Protecsafari 02-25-2009, 05:22 AM IMHO the Charter needs a lot of work in smoothing it up, internal and external.
They might be serviceable rigs, but man I HATE their cylinder latch.
It isn't a Smith.
FWIW used Smith 442's run around $400. IMHO the $50 bucks diff for a used Smith is well worth it.
That said, my M60 (no dash) was a bit of an eyesore when I got it. Lubes had varnished inside, some rust here and there on the outside. I spent 3 hours cleaning and polishing it up. I then bobbed the hammer.
Nice gun for $250 :)

I'm sure buy now it's been duracoated some other complimentary color for the red.
Numidian 02-25-2009, 06:45 AM I'm sure buy now it's been duracoated some other complimentary color for the red.
Or the red was left behind and the silver is now Gold or something

I have a line on a Charter Undercover SS .38 DOA with 20 rounds through it for $250. Also includes some ammo, box and other random stuff.

it shoots everytime and I have had zero issues other than the aluminum cased ammo likes to stick. an aftermarket selection of grips would be nice.
And its still red :flipoff2:
poolville02 02-25-2009, 06:35 PM Here's my Undercover I bought shortly after the start of this thread
Stainless model (16oz vs. 12oz for the Lite model). Added the shorter grip and spurless hammer.
