Was your foot on the brake with the tranny in neutral?

I was told years back that you could pull the motor and turn the shaft by hand(pliers, wrench, whatever) I've never tried it though. Is it bound up? Try driveing back and fourth a bit, maybe try jacking a front wheel off the ground.

It could be vaccum ingaged, Look for a vacumm hose that runs down to the axle or transfercase. Proubly on the top of the front axle, try unplugging it and see if it disengages. If that doesn't work you might be able to use a hand pump. Sorry its been a little while since I looked at one of these.

With mine, sometimes it works great sometimes it doesnt. What I do is, get on enough of a slope for the truck to roll by its self... Select what you want, like 2HI then let the truck roll in neutral, and tap the breaks getting a nice little jerk, I usually only have to tap the breaks 2-3 times while its rolling... Usually I only have to do this to disengage it. Never know this might work for you,,, and it seems to work the best if you are rolling backwards while tapping the breaks... It works forward too...

Good luck...
