Is this something I should replace? There is 243,000 on my 92.

Most likely. 100k is the norm for needing replacement. Pull the valve cover off and look down at the plastic guides and see if they are broken. Another symptom is eng rattle at cold start then goes away.

My motor (22RE, 85') is making a lot of noise. It sounds like it's the chain rubbing, but only when the oil pressure is low. It burns a lot of oil. Timing chain issue?

Could be because of the low oil pressure. Maybe a new oil pump would help?

Hey Dave im looking to buy a new motor and was recomeneded from the guys at TG that I go to you, anyways got a few questions, what all comes on/with the motor? what are the options you offer? whats the cost including a core? And a time frame, do you have to build it etc? O ya im looking to get a 22r or re not sure that it matters im going to be getting a propane kit to run it on if you have any input on what you think would be best that would be great. Thanks Dan

Is the double row set for 84 and older or for 82 and older? I have a parts guy telling me my 84 is supposed to have a single row chain, but, it has a double row set.

He is correct, but with the oil pump drive gear from a dual row chain set up a dual row timing chain kit will replace the single row in an early engine.
