Ok... this sounds like a realy dumb question...

How do you guy's drive with Auto's and change Transfer case gears on the move ?
Is it the usual way of stopping and putting it into neutral then selecting hi/lo ?

or is there some special way/trick other than a full manual valve body ?

For example , driving UP-or-DOWN a hill , your in 4hi and you need to keep ya momentum cos ya loosing traction and ya wanna get into 4lo ... what do ya do ??

Kinda depends on your case. 231 you can shift in low speeds....242 can be put in part time at any speed....An Atlas or Stak case can be shifted at anytime under any RPM. What kinda t-case do you have?

When moving, put trans in neutral, shift t-case, trans in gear. Or just drive in 4 low all the time.

With a 231 you can shift into 4hi at any speed. But for 4 low its recommended to slow to 2-3 mph.
