Never heard of Almador.

Amador, yes.
Almanor, yes.

The only event in Northern California of which I'm aware is the CalROCS event, with the URL noted above...

lake amador is off of a little road off of 88 right near the turn off to ione... it's about equal distances from jackson and ione.

oh i don't think you'll be the only ones! there's going to be a huge crowd of us from calaveras county, and from the competitors list it should be a damn good weekend. i personally am hoping for some rain, a little mud would be some fun!!

once you get into jackson you'll want to go east on hwy. 88. then it's about 7.5 miles to the turn off. there are signs and i think that it's buena vista road that will take you the rest of the way. it's a planter lake so there's signs everywhere.

Go east on Hi-way 16 to Ione-Michigan bar road turn right follow that to Hi-way 104 turn left go into the town of Ione at the stop sign turn left onto main street go down main st and at the third right make a right turn that is still Hi-way 104 go all the way out to Hi-way 88 to the stop sign and turn right then take a emediate left turn on to jackson Valley Road (I think that is the name)or Buena Vista road anyway it is the first left turn. take that down a few miles and you will see the sign for lake Amador on your left.
