Hey, I will be headed to UC Davis in a couple weeks as a freshmen (M.E. major) and I'm going to be looking for some people who build and wheel trucks/jeeps. It's going to be a shame not having the parent's driveway to work in, so if you got a place to work on your rig and want a helping hand, let me know.

BTW... my truck is an Jeep MJ Commanche that I got just a couple weeks ago. I am already nearly finished on a spring over with lower gears (and appropriate lift up front) and about ready to convert an A/C compressor to OBA. That stuff should be finished before Davis starts. I'm just looking for a place to do basic maintenence and I will hopefully be building a cage soon.

Hey, I go to UC Davis. I'm a second year ME. The problem is my Jeep is back at home in MA, so no wheeling for me unless you just want a passenger:). I grew up in Davis, now live in Sac, but I still have a dozen connections and places to wrench in Davis.
I did my high steer conversion at a freinds place in Davis.
Let me know if you need any help, want to go wheeling, etc...

That's news to me! What rules exactly am I not following? The subtitle to "General 4x4 Discussion" is: "General Discussion about Four Wheelin". I believe I am generally discussing four-wheeling. The other boards say "Tech talk for _____ owners" , this board makes no mention of tech talk. Maybe you should change those, or add something like the "Jeep Talk mission statement" that sets up the rules. General Chit Chat has the subtitle "From politics to religion, almost anything goes here!". I am far closer to "General Discussion about Four Wheelin" than to that.

Oh, and SeanP, I frequent the NAXJA board and have met a few of the guys from it. One day I will go to a meeting and some trail runs. Thanks.

I believe it is safe to use Lance as an example of the proper way to use the board, since he is member #1. He currently has a thread with a couple pages of responses that is solely for the purpose of finding a spotter. Not an ounce of tech on that post! He uses it to find some help (for wheelin, not miscellaneous), and I use it to find some help (for wheelin, not miscellaneous). Guess what board he put that thread on!?!? That's right! This One!

And by the way, it's no slammed ghetto YJ. It's a flat black MJ, sprung-over with hacked up fenders and room for 36's (though for now it gets 33s because of DD status).

Maybe you haven't noticed....... LANCE IS GOD.... and GOD can whatever the FAWK he wants too. And I find your search for a wheeling buddy considerably different from the search for a quailfied spotter who can make or break a team by his wheeling knowledge and skill.


Now that I have noticed even by my own standards (which are low) I am padding so I bid you and your "Brand Spanking" new MJ farewell.
