I told a friend of mine to bend his lower radius arms for more clearance ,the arms have heim joints at each end and the problem is that they 'fall' from side to side and so they don't remain straight .

How can he fix that ? i've seen rigs with the same arms bolted under between the axle and the chassis .

Thanks in advance

are you sure you mean radius arms? If they are radius arms they are bolted to the axle at 2 points and there is no way they could fall side to side. if you mean control arms (bolt to axle at one point and frame at one point) the only cure is to use a rubber bushing at one end instead of heims at each end.

you need to put the joint back in a sraight line pull and push you can bend the link but you will need to adress the side loading of the shank and shaft of the joints if you are using heims. this is why we broke two heims on our reaper.side to side motion is going to happen with a bent link also if it is a radius arm i to do not understand it floping.?

sorry for the misunderstanding - the arm connects to the axle at one point ( lower point at the axle tube ) and then runs to a higher point at the chassis .
There are 2 lower arms and 2 upper arms which connect to the pumpkin ( 4 link setup ) .

Any way - the only cure is to get rid of one heim ?

:(
do you have pictures of a system like this , with closeups ?

Thanks

I have seen simple bungie cords that hold the arms toward the body. Then they are allowed to move around during articulation, but the bungies keep em in line while driving around.
