i'm about ready to sway to your side and try it. my question is what to you use to add threads to the pipe. on regular tube manufactors make the bungs or threaded inserts to weld on the tube. are these also made for pipe? if so where can i get them? or are you just shoving a nut into the pipe?
i'm just needing to make some serious duty traction bars that will hold up.

Instead of using hiem joints, why not use the "johnny joints".
They are about the same price as a good heim joint and they weld on. They are adjustable, greasable and offer the same amount of flex.
