would it be possible to fit a D60 ujoint in a sals front axle? i am pretty sure that you could go 35 spline throughout in it, but i am not sure of how large of a ujoint you could fit.

thanks

Depends on the unit, Im pretty sure the swivels on ambulance spec salsbury front is the same demensions as the regular housing. The welded swivels on 101s are a little different so Im not sure there. You can measure a stock swivel and a d60 joint though and that will help you out. Good luck front salsburys are tough to find/make.

Ike, do you know the width between the wheel mounting surfaces of 101 axles? i know that coil rovers are 62" and that the 101s are more than that, but im not sure.

the salisbury front swivels are identical to the 'normal' 90/110 swivel housings, same part # and everything.

in fact, everything from the 7 bolt flange outward is 'normal' duty axle stuff. (apart from the track bar)

the only 'difference' there is, is dependant on if you have a 23spline CV or a 32 spline, but this is the same on 'normal' axles too.

From memory the FC101 axles are 65" wms to wms.

The biggest u-joint you'll get in the Salisbury swivel housing is a 297x...And that takes a little grinding on the inside casting (on some).

If you go the FC route then don't worry about the strength of the CV's. They are about 5" in diameter (from what I've heard) and can handle mucho hp. Just ask T. Cooper. That's what he runs with 38.5 SX's and 350+ hp...And he doesn't have a light foot either!
