That’s what I did to mine. Sounds great in my opinion, not overly loud and obnoxious but defiantly noticeable. I didn't really notice any power gain though if that what you are looking for.

when i pulled the cat off my 06 it seemed i lost some lower end so i put the cat back on.then i added the smarty but now im getting ready to make it the p.o.d smarty :D

With california environmental regs, I would not remove the cat.
