Yeah, not only am I a web wheeler, I'm also a web builder :emb: I'm the lamest of the lame!!!!

I've been playing in Google's sketchup a lot recently, and I decided to build out my skinned buggy plan for a stretched wheelbase scout II (cause I have WAYYYYY too much free time at work), anyway, finished it all up, and saved, no problem, added skins to the design and saved. Open it up later, back to the skinless design, didn't actually save :( no error code or nothing...

3 hours of work down the tube :(

Luckily I took some snapshots, but they're jpg so I can't pull measurements off of them, gotta go measure things out again manually.

Anyway, here's the plan, feel free to criticize bitches!

Everything is done to scale (minus the frame drops and rises), full width axles w/ 4" backspacing, 42"/14.5" tires, obviously would need to be linked, the lines are where the coilovers/axles would go (haven't drawn them up yet).

Wheelbase 128"
Track (outside to outside) 81"

Zero approach and departure angle, wheels stick out 3" past the closest piece of body. The frame in the back would probably need to be chopped to eliminate the drop after the rear wheel hump... or not, who knows!

Inside wouldn't resemble anything stock, bed mod like an 800 (more compartment storage and room for up travel) and stock dash wouldn't work.

Probably use traveller body panels chopped in the rear...

Tubing in that design is all 2", but 1.5 or 1.75 would be used in real life, and yes, I realize tubing isn't actually square, but drawing cylindrical tubing sucks my balls.

After I redraw the body panels I've got to figure out what to do for the grill and tailgate, I'm thinking of popping in rounded tail lights off an 800 opposite of the headlights. Think it would look cool.

The only thing I don't like is the propane tanks... seems dangerous to put them there, but where else can you stick them?

If you want the sketchup file pm me your email address and I'll send it to you (no panels).

Meh, scout II with traveler panels or bobbed traveler w/ a scout top, either way would work fine

So why are you here? Take your cartoons and go away. Come back when you actually build something.:shaking:

How is that gonna work? Your gonna be a couple inches wider than you think... Maybe sketching isn't the ideal way to 'build' something :flipoff2::rolleyes:

X2

You should be using your free time at work to find another job that pays better or has OT so you can build your 'dream' rig. Or, do like 99.7% of every one else and wheel a stock rig and build as $$ allows.

BTW, I didnt think a scout could get worse aerodynamics but yours just did:flipoff2:
