They test every battery to make sure no cells have any defects and all terminal connections are good. Clean them thoroughly, draw them completely dead and recharge, relabel, and re date code for warranty purposes.

sorry if I hadn't gotten back to you very busy medically. Third party (national distributor) and warrantied both locally/nationally. No you don't need an optima as a core.
