I'm looking to pick up a Glock, possibly used. How can I tell if it has has a million rounds through it, or is in otherwise poor condition?

I know how to field strip one if there are things to look for in the internals.

Try finding one that's a decent price. two months ago you could pick up a used G19 for 400 bucks, good luck finding them for under 500 now and you can get them new for 520. Check the barrel hood for wear, you can also check the serial number and that may give you an idea how old it is although that may mean nothing.

I just picked up a new 23 for $500, the 19 was about $20 less.

As for used, check for external wear, they don't really wear much on the inside...

Buy it.

The more rounds the better. The trigger gets smoother and lighter. Ammo sent downrange is the ultimate Glock trigger job: My buddies 120,000 round Glock 34 has a trigger that rivals the $200 Glockworx trigger I used to run.

And replacing all the springs, trigger bar, and connector would run you under $50 if it didn't run for some reason.

When I buy an unknown-condition Glock, I replace the recoil spring/guide rod assembly ($5) and the trigger spring ($even less) and call it good after a good detail-strip and cleaning.

Oh, and I change the sights. Glock sights suck.

Yup. I just bought a glock 22. I cleaned it dropped it in a parts cleaner bin to degrease it. Dried it off took to the range the next day and fired 100 rounds through it without oiling it.

OOh and I got it for $350 and sold it to my buddy for $400

I have seen G19 and G23 for $459 on sale. And that is in CA.
