I used to run that exact set up, locked EB 44, on 36in tsls, and a 4.0, no problems what so ever. The steering box is the same for all ford trucks, so it must have just been a fluke. Swap the steering boxes and hit it again.

I had a sector shaft break on me with 33"s and a locked dana 35. It was a junkyard box and the truck had some minor front end damage it came off of. I think the shaft was damaged in the accident and finally broke on me 10,000 miles after I swaped in in. Im just glad it broke when I was going 2 mph in the dirt instead of 70 on the freeway.
