Forgive me if I am posting in the wrong section the Moderator can move if needed.

Has anyone seen the new bead locks on page 75 of the new CRAWL magazine?

I just went to their website www.innerairlock.com and they look very impressive !! The Stauns are cheaper, but I thought I would let everyone know about these also.

Talk to 91Blaze he runs them in both his xrra buggy and his mod stock yota. So far from what I have seen of them they work and they can hold up to his abuse.

I've beat the hell out of the yota for over a year now with the airlocks and they have been great

I was worried that the tubes would blow after hard impacts and rolls but they haven't yet and I think it's been over 4-5 times hard this year

inner air locks are wayyyyyyy cheaper than stauns like 4 innerair locks for the price of 2 stauns

yeah, staun wants $200 per tire. screw that. when I told my local shop to put some bead-seal on my tire beads when they were installed, they said it'd be real hard to peel off to change tires. I had told them first that I'd use black RTV silicone to seal them on there and they told me that the tires would never come off if I did that.
well, it's been years, and they haven't leaked 1psi yet. but I haven't put them to the trail/4psi test yet. if silicone works so great, why not just use that, it'd only be like $10 to do all 4 tires.

I've used roof tar, silicone and the DIY beadlock screws from inchworm and they all worked. Gluing the beads didn't turn out to be that bad to remove them.

the gluing process is messy but effective just not as effective as an actual mechanical beadlock device

the screw were ok too but they leaked and holes stripped out if you messed with the screws any. Not to mention I installed 286 screw total - not the end of the world but not convenient either.

All those have the disadvantage of not strengthing the rim edge. Neither do inner airlocks or stauns though and we've WADDED up 4 rims so far this year. 2 steel on the buggy and 2 aluminum on the toyota. Not a worry after the cool rim stiffeners on the buggy and I hope to get some AL ones for the toyota eventually.

Oh and we had problems with tires spinning on the rims (AL) so we had switched over to steel rims on everything. Then I got the airlocks and to save some weight went back to the AL rims. I was concerned that if I spun a tire it would destroy the airlocks, since the airlocks don't actually clamp the tire to the rim like a typical beadlock. Same rims, same situations, same wheel spin, not yet able to get a tire to rotate on the rim.

That should help with balancing since my road truck always ended up spun after talking it wheeling and the weight changed places with regards to the tire.

I use the Stauns on my race jeep and have gone 20 miles with no air in the tire from a broken rim. It took that long for the rim to finally cut the tube. I'm a fan.

totally dig the bead locks, but that rock ring isn't so hot. you rub the ring into rocks for a while and I'll show you a nasty knife edge when you go to check your tire pressure. maybe I'm just a pussy. :homer:

I've ground my normal beadlocks pretty good on rocks and have yet to cut myself, or even scrape a knucle checking the air pressure.

Got a few friends running the Inner Air locks and they do great.
Here's a shot of their rim stiffeners

no need to check tire pressure after getting those
