: front 60's coming along
chris fresh 11-15-2008, 09:50 PM started buyin parts for the front 60 build, think i got some good prices.
5:38 R/P from national - 170.00
master install from Aaron at harsh terrain - 99.00
inner seals from foothills - 20
1350 yoke and u-bolts from mad4wd for the d-60- 66.00
next things on the list are
35 stubs
flanges ( probably from solid, unless someone knows better
and i'm also hunting a 32 spline front output shaft for my 205.
jb's got one,but it's 175 and then i think you have to supply the retainer, new bearing and yoke, gotta double check that because there rear "kit" is the same money and shows everything in there pic.

really im just jealous:flipoff2:
Blind Driver 11-16-2008, 08:52 AM I was just getting ready to look for a cookie pic
chris fresh 11-16-2008, 09:06 AM don't be jealous of a simple 60 build,be like me and be jealous of all the full tube,4link,coil over rigs with rockwells with mad flex like BLK scout 800.man i love that rig.that's my next level.when i start that build, then be jealous all you want.LOL
Blind Driver 11-16-2008, 09:26 AM I'll be happy when the cold weather disappears so I can start working on my junk again. I'm not kicking up the big bucks to keep my shop warm. Too bad the landlord won't let me put in a wood stove :(
chris fresh 11-16-2008, 09:58 AM cold weather is just startin here, and yes i just built a wood burning set up for my shop lastnight.55 gallon oil drum( free from local oil company) layed side ways with some scrap metal legs and some 6" stove pipe plumb'd up thru the wall witha cap. built the first fire last night to try it out.wow! super hot. i put a 20 dollar box fan behind it to push the hot air off the barrel,so for about 65 bucks i have heat for the winter.
ChiScouter 11-16-2008, 10:30 AM For your front output find a ford 205 in the boneyard.
chris fresh 11-16-2008, 11:09 AM i just might have a guy who has one for nothing, can i use the bearing and retainer from the ford also?
REDDMANIAC 11-16-2008, 11:23 AM Im not jealous of buggy's, especially, for example, a scout buggy that doesnt really look like a scout anymore and is just panels hung on a tube frame/chassis.
chris fresh 11-16-2008, 11:33 AM not sayin for looks, just sayin for driveability with the amount of flex, travel and such.all my rigs retain the factory looks( to a point) keeping headlights and most of the original body lines.but i do appriciate the time, effort and fab skills that go into a buggy build
BLK Scout 800 11-17-2008, 12:30 AM Im not jealous of buggy's, especially, for example, a scout buggy that doesnt really look like a scout anymore and is just panels hung on a tube frame/chassis.
aaaa ok *hater* cough cough..........wow :shaking:
I still run a Scout frame, fenders, firewall, hood, rad, D300, floor pan....:flipoff2:
chris fresh 11-17-2008, 04:56 AM only thing i saw was the vid someone posted, never would of thought you still had all that stuff, good on ya then.and i do like your rig alot. *hater*, i love it
REDDMANIAC 11-17-2008, 09:45 AM aaaa ok *hater* cough cough..........wow :shaking:

expected that, but not many people can look at it and recognize it as a scout.. etc.. etc if they even know what a scout is. you did good work, props :flipoff2:
BLK Scout 800 11-17-2008, 12:10 PM Here's the thing that gets me. When I had a full on Scout 800 I was very proud of the fact it was a Scout (and still am). However 9/10 people that would come up to me would say "NICE JEEP" WTF!!! I got so sick of that shit and that's where the "JUCK FEEP" came about, but even with the stickers on my rig clearly stating fuck jeep they still called it a jeep.
Now that I have a buggy all I ever get asked is "what is/was it" then I proudly say "it's a scout can't you tell" LOL :flipoff2:
When on fordyce everyone was calling it a bronco, Works out great, no not me officer it was that guy in the bronco:flipoff2:
As for D60 parts I've been looking around online too. PartsMike (http://www.partsmike.com/store/store.php?crn=202&rn=1014&action=show_detail) and 4wdfactory (http://www.4wdfactory.biz/osc2.2/product_info.php?cPath=94_25_158&products_id=29&osCsid=ba5bd28d5a2ed99c636f75a6581d686b) have some good prices. When I'm ready I will try and work a deal and get all the parts from one place.

I played the market piecing together the parts for my 60. Gears and install kits from a local shop, ARB from CCOR, 4340 stubs from Extreme Axle Sales, high steer arms from BTF, 1410 yoke from HAD, diff cover from GLO, u-joints from Bobby Long. I think all I have left to get is 4340 inners (from local shop) and drive flanges (from Poly Performance most likely). I slowly gathered parts over a couple of years as the $$$ allowed and evaluated each part for features that I wanted and price (if available from multiple vendors).
chris fresh 11-17-2008, 05:18 PM yeah i shopped around, saw r/p that vary'd like 40 bucks from one guy to the next,i'm all for supporting vendors, but i'm more for supporting my wallet.two guys i've been dealing with are larry at mad4wd and Aaron at harsh terrain, aaron's a really good guy.if you were gonna buy groceries and could save 50 bucks for the same food, you'd do it right? same game different product.think about it,with a little shoppin around and you saved 40 bucks-4 places, that to me is another part i need that i don't have to come outta pocket for extra.seals came in today,r/p,arms and four chevy tre's and master install are on there way.so now i have to decide who to get the flanges from, and who to get the 35 stubs from so i can use them. oh yeah and the 1350 yoke for the 60 should be here tomorrow or wed. hopefull in the next few day's this thing will start comin together.
updates and pics to come. i don't want any butt hurtness for not postin pics of my build.geeeezzz!!!
Binder 11-17-2008, 05:58 PM I still run a Scout frame, fenders, firewall, hood, rad, D300, floor pan....:flipoff2:

Hey are you going to delete this thread too? Whats up with deleting answered questions?
There was a thread on front springs a while back, I did the research and posted up some good pics from several builds along with details. The fawker who started the thread deleted it:flipoff2: You never know when your thread might end up in the FAQ
Urban Wheeler 11-21-2008, 04:19 PM Put all your shit in a build thread and it'll get in the FAQ
chris fresh 11-21-2008, 05:18 PM when i finish my build i will post the entire build from the first day of purchase to the day it's ready to wheel and go from there.
levi1a 11-21-2008, 05:53 PM i deleted the posts because it seems like every time i post something it turns into some bullshit about what i'm asking / what i'm doing.no matter how legit, and if i say something, then right away i'm the bad guy.so i killed the threads, gonna finish out my 10th build and that will be that.didn't mean to piss anyone off or delete info that someone else could use.believe me,i've got tons of pics and info from my builds, stuff i have fabbed, created.parts and peices that i have done by myself with just hand tools to save tons of money to the average guy.just don't need the bullshit.this reply was just to answer your question and will be killed tomorrow, because if i don't,then all i'm gonna hear is how i have to tuffin up.just not worth my time when i'm tryin to give what i know and learn what i don't.pretty sure i answered your question
when i finish my build i will post the entire build from the first day of purchase to the day it's ready to wheel and go from there.
I don't understand why some people get so Butt hurt. Come on it's the fuckin internet. It's not like some ones gonna see you in Wal- Mart and say "Hey there's that Dumbass who posted that thread." If you really think that the info you have to share might benifit someone else.. leave the fucking thread. I am new here too , but givin the wealth of info hear it would be worth it to me to here I am a Fuctard ,Newb ,Dumbass whatever. to get some decent help, or to learn some new shit .OH and by the way Toughin up:laughing:
chris fresh 11-21-2008, 06:15 PM i'll leave the thread just for you noobie
levi1a 11-21-2008, 07:24 PM Nah go ahead and delete it...... Lacking in Tech:flipoff2:
