i know u all say the m50d trans is POS and ditch it, but what will bolt to the
I6 motor. I heard people say ZF, or ???? if i dont need OD, or what ever. havent found any place for adapters ONLINE that is. so what would u recomend because i dont want to motor swap just yet.

Also what is the difference between the mount plate for 203 ford and 203 chevy???? would they interchange if u were to change the input shafts???

Small block bellhousing is 302/5.0L, 351W/5.8L, 351 Cleveland, 300 I-6/4.9L and some 289s.

351M/5.7L and 400/6.6L are big (429/460-7.5L) block.

ZF-5s were in hd F-250s and F-350s

NP435 is a 4 spd with a granny gear. Cast iron heavy mofo.

ZF is the late model 5 speed. Came behind gas engines with a 5.72:1 granny gear and a .76:1 overdrive. They're a tough transmission, not quite as tough, IMHO, as the T18 & NP435.

Having a T18 (same basic trans as the 435) sitting on the floor in the garage, I'll get you the bolt pattern & bearing retainer measurements if you need them for comparison to your 2.9 or 4.0 bell housing measurements

Mine has about 300,000 on it and has had the shit beaten out of it. Started life behind a 351W plow truck, then went into my 302 off-road now turned show/poseur truck. Still shifts just fine.

x2, i had a 78f150 with the 435 that had close to 400k on the clock. never had a hard time getting it into any gear. best tranny i have ever used

so pretty much, get a zf or 435, or else.......

did either one come with a 203 behind it??? i have a doubler i wanna use, i know i have to chane the input on the 203 novack and advanced didnt show any mounts for the 203, so is this a factory thing that these came with????

what other setups work great and bullet proof beside a stack, or atlas..???
