hey everybody

ill be putting in my RK 3-link order tomarrow, and plan on installing it next week.

so whats the preferred method of removing these mounts. i know a lot of people usually get after it with a grinder and BFH. i was talking to a friend tonight, and hes got a torch? will that be safe to use near the "frame rails" or even effective?

wish i knew somebody with a plasma:mad3:

if you're worried about the frame rails, use the torch, but stay away from the frame, then find all the welds that attach the mounts to the frame, drill them out, and if you want weld the holes back up...no matter how you do it it's a pain in the ass

I used a reciprocating saw to get the bulk of the crap out of the way, then cleaned it up with a grinder and welded it up.

i had to use a grinder on mine and it sucked. A buddy of mine used a plasma and his came out really clean.

Reciprocating saw?
4.5" grinder with cutting disk?
Oxy/Accetaline torch?
Plamsa Cutter?
Drill? (drill out the plug welds)
