just need some ideas on a proper way or a way to get around this.

i have a 93 s10, stock 4.3 and 4l60 but have a np208 transfer case behind it. so i couldnt hook up the vss sensor. anyways the truck wont shift out of first gear unless you do it manually which is fine with me cause its only a offroad truck. but the problem i have is sometimes giving it heavy throttle it sometimes shifts into 2nd even with the selector in 1st and it doesnt go back down to first, it even starts off in second from a complete stop. i found if i shut the truck off for like 5 minutes it will go back to first but is there anyway to hook the vss up to a np208 or id be happy with somehow stopping the trans from shifting into 2nd gear period:confused:

I know on the 241 the plastic mech speedo gear (88-89 V series) is interchangeable with the tone ring for the VSS sensor. If thats the case on the 208, just pop it off, put in a tone ring, drill and tap the speedo housing for a VSS sensor, make sure the distance will give you proper signal and your done.

that works:) or if you want to use the stock speedo cable output without moding it you can get a vss sensor that will hook up to speedo gear, costs $75 to $100 screws on in about 30 seconds.

look in to a vss for a late 80's p30 van. the trucks used a inline vss to send info to the computer.
