MaxCrack 08-12-2002, 04:36 PM I've noticed a lot of stolen truck posts:mad:on different boards in the last few months. And it got me thinkin'. Now that my truck is finally on the road (after 3 years) and looks pretty cool (at least to me), I was wondering what products or mods do other people use to keep their truck from being stolen AND where can the rest of us get these things or how do we do them ourselves?
Chris Geiger 08-12-2002, 04:41 PM Put it in the garage, don't drive it execpt to the trail, never let it out of your site, and never, never loan your truck to anyone!
StinkBug 08-12-2002, 04:45 PM you learned about loaning the hard way didn't ya chris ;)

Heh, it doesn't fit in the garage, I have to goto work some time, and NOONE gets to drive it except for me, not even the wife.
I was thinkin more along the lines of mechanical or electrical things to help keep it where you left it.
crawler#976 08-13-2002, 09:38 AM hey-
I use an ignition cutoff switch, an electric fuel pump cutoff switch and a truck Club. My Apline head unit is removable, as is my CB. Everything in the bed is locked up. If possible, I back into parking spaces and set the e-brake. When it's doorless weather, like now, I park at home inside a 6' chainlink fence. At work, it's right outside my office window.
But, my first line of defense is common sense- don't park in bad areas.

JeepinIan 08-13-2002, 09:56 AM Kill switches in hard to see places.
Pull the rotor out of the dist.
Lock the trans shifter & the t-case shifter together.
Install a removable steering wheel.
Glenn 08-13-2002, 10:00 AM Mine is rigged with a small explosive device (C4). Use the incorrect sequence in starting it and it could result in an abrupt increase in size of someone's rear exit hole. Probably wouldn't be fatal (hasn't been actually tested) but definately painful and would require medical attention... Nobody even WANTS to borrow my rig... :D:D:D

Yes, don't ever lend a Toyota to a Jeep owner. It's a Toyota thing, and the Jeep drivers don't understand.
joes75bronco 08-13-2002, 12:22 PM hide razor blades in strategic places... when the fag tries to look under the dash, or seat or what haveyou then he'll get a real nice slice. also the kill switches and disconnects are a great idea too
Rerard 08-13-2002, 12:25 PM Hey dumbass.. here I did it for you:

Lloyd 08-13-2002, 12:28 PM Mousetraps and rattraps are good for this purpose too. A friend of mine had a bunch painted black in various places in his Jeep. When they're fumbling around for the kill switch and come up with a broken finger it may dampen their enthusiasm. I thought he was a little kooky at first, but it did work.

You're so helpful and friendly I could just $hit.:flipoff2: I thought it would be a cool idea to get a bunch of these ideas on one thread. So, they are already on one page that was started in January of last year. Oh no, I guess that makes me a fawking Rerard cause I didn't search for it. Or maybe, just maybe, I thought there would be some new stuff and (useful) ideas out there by now.
And the name is pronounced Doom Oss.
