I once seen a link or somthing where it brokedown all the axle shaft specs for all D44s. The reason I ask is, I got a 78 F250 HD D44 and looking for a cheeper option for spare shafts. There arent too many of those in junk yards. Now my real question, will chevy D44 inners work on my F250 D44?

Thanx Dave

Simple answer: D44's are not universal. However, both your outers and one inner can be found in an F150 axle. The other inner is specific to F250.

Alloy USA does moly shafts for the early F250 D44s. The Chevy you get shafts from just about anyone doing moly. Hope that helps.
