Hello,
has anyone of you already experimented with twin coilovers on a Defender 110?
I am about to upgrade my rig from the single Proflex to twin coilovers and am currently looking for the best shocks for this project and/or advice.
Thanx,
Robert

Are you talking about coil-overs or shocks? Shocks are different than coilovers. I can't imagine why you would need dual coil-overs on a 110 unless you were going to do high speed desert stuff and even then it's usually more effective to use multiple bypass shocks instead of multiple coilovers unless you are just looking for bling

I can't figure out why you would need dual shocks for that matter. Running baja?

Well, it was just an idea that came up at one of these "letīs see what we can build for the next race" chats.
I thought that by using coilovers I could ommit the springs, especially as I havnīt yet found any really great progressive HD springs for the 110.
So long,

If you ran 1 coil-over per corner you could do away with the regular springs and that should give you plenty of damping, if not the way to add damping is with either a secondary smooth body or bypass shock, not a second coil-over.

Okay,
then the first information I had was completely wrong. Thanx!
To omit my coils I would just have to add a coilover shock to my Proflex or exchange my shox for tough coilover shox with external reservoir, right?
I will give it another thought, but only after I have tested my new custom made progressive coils.
Thanx,
Robert

yes a coilover would replace the springs and shocks. Might want to search a little on this site for some information on coilovers
