: Double Towing/Tandem Towing??

does anyone know of a site which lists the state-by-state laws for double/tandem towing?? ill be driving from mass to utah flat towing a cj and hopefully towing a small military trailer behind that.

Needs to be Fed legal and legal in your home state, right??

Quick google search says you can't do any type of triple setup in Mass. you won't be able to even get out of town...

And most triple laws state the 2nd item must be a 5th wheel/king pin style hitch (not a gooseneck or bumper pull).

So that is 2 strikes...

doubles/triples generally require first to have a kingpin type attachment

depending on where you look it may be called doubles or triples refering to the number of trailers or the total number of vehicles respectively

I found a site that has some stuff on towing regulations by state

click here: Towing (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts/towing)

then in their search bar type "regulations by state" and stuff on boat towing, rv towing, car towing by state etc should come up.
