just bought 2 keltec su-16ca's today :smokin:

like this one (http://www.impactguns.com/store/640832000856.html)

from my local shop. was about $150 more each that advertised elsewhere, but, I also have seen anyplace that has them available either. I got 2 of his last 3 today.

so, look like pretty good EBR's. they aren't ar's or anything, but, i got 2 for the price of one of them.

rails are set for weaver mounts so just gotta pick a couple scopes for it.

however, do they make muzzle brakes or flash hiders for them??

anyone have any tips on it??

it sucks waiting the 10 days... but the 3 day weekend after turkey day is gonna rock!!!

also, i've read both that it'll take ar mag's or M1 mag's anyone know for sure which it is??

In Kalifornia, you can only run a muzzle brake on it legally. A FH would make it an assault weapon (How scary, those flash hiders must kill millions of people every year). Any brake ofr an AR will fit the keltec. If you have extraction problems, upgrade to a brand name extractor (bushmaster, armalite, etc), that was the only problem I ever had with mine.

owner has been pretty good to me. he's the one i picked up the mk1 from and he is going to pay for the repairs that it may need.

cool, now i've just gotta find cheap ar mags :D

and i'll keep that in mind about the extractors. how much are they (replacements)??

I can't wait to get it and put some lead down range :)

anyone know if wolf ammo is laquer coated??

I've stayed away from wolf for my 9mm like the plague.

I'm not sure on the .223 but Wolf in 7.62x39 comes in both lacquer or poly coating. You just have to make sure they give a full description in the details and make sure to get the right stuff.

(7.62x39 with a poly coating)
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/AMM649-5.html

Many of the websites don't list if it's lacquer or poly coating. None of the .223 I've seen lists which type of coating.

I think it's typically the Wolf Military Classic that is lacquer coated. Not sure if that's a constant though.

Holy Fuck, we get those here for between $400 and $500 and they're on gunbroker around $500

Hell, you can build an AR for $750.

KelTec is an interesting company. Seem decent but lots of plastics/polymers. Their warranty is great though. I have the little pocket .32 and its great for what it is.

if you can find parts right now.

I'm not a builder yet. I haven't the foggiest idea about what i'd want to build, what parts work with what and all that.

right now, i wanna pick up and shoot without having to do the waiting game for good prices on parts and waiting for orders. I just don't have the time or the patience at the moment to do it.

so, first impression of the Kel tec.....

good gun. got it sighted in pretty quickly with a cheep scope and was putting rounds in a 4" circle shortly.

has a nice little kick to it that i wasn't quite expecting on the first shot or two, but, settled in and got comfortable with it.

ended up with 2 different scope ring sets so i was only able to do one of them today.

I think i will get one muzzle brake and see how test it out on one of them.

basic breakdown is easy, and although it is plastic, it actually doesn't feel that flimsy. but, it is nice and light, which i like.

bipod is good for letting the gun rest after firing a bunch of rounds, not much real use as a bipod for shooting.

shot some rem .223 from walmart and that was good.
shot the lake city 5.56 and daymn, big difference in the two rounds.

overall, 4.5 outta 5 in my book for look, feel, and ease of use.

LOL, yeah, i suck at iron sights with a rifle.

handguns are a different story to the 'normal' distances.

I need glasses i'm sure.

I know what you mean about the $$. this month was costly, but, you only live once ya know.

now its about getting stocked up on ammo.
