My company is starting to get into "remote security camera" installations. I would like to be able to carry my Kimber onsite due to the fact that I will be working on weekends and at night to set up the cameras and gate lighting. These sites have been broken into numerous times and I would like to make sure I am legal.
Thanks in advance!

maybe u should try the sherrif or police chief of your county instead of asking permission on here. if u can't get ccw, check the laws on open carry. does your company have a firearms policy?

Not asking permission to carry on here, I am asking if anybody knows the answer to my question.
Thanks for playing! :D

he is correct about checking with you county sheriff. here, i did it for you: http://www.sdsheriff.net/mgt_serv/licensing/ccw.html:D
edit: and good luck! with a population of 2,918,300 there are only 1703 ccw permits. i don't know how old that information is though.

I thought I read that you could open carry loaded on your own property and at your place of work (company willing) in CA.

this is true. it doubt "place of business" would work as a contractor working on someone else's property. that is what it sounds like he is doing to me but i could be wrong.
