Their is a large hole and a small hole... Large hole is high presure into the box and the other hole is return.
What made you go with the drivers side diff axle?
66CJdean 08-12-2002, 09:25 PM From the camera mans point of view the one on the right is the return and the one on the left and further back is the pressure line one.

Look at the frame. It's obviously not a Scout.
REDDMANIAC 08-12-2002, 09:41 PM Yea, the hole furthest forward towards pitman & inward towards the engine(or the line above the head) is the pressure side. If the PUMPwhines, the pump itself may be bad
SMART ASS 08-12-2002, 09:41 PM A little rabit told me, thet i should use a drivers side drop, something to do with a drivers side transfercase :-P

 IDIOTS
Rerard 08-13-2002, 08:46 AM Nope.. not a scout, its a 98 ranger /w waggy 44. As for the steering pump im pretty sure its fine because it worked perfectly before we started the swap and only has 55k on it.
robc10x 08-16-2002, 06:39 AM That whine most likely means you got air in the system. Keeping the front tires off the ground, run the steering wheel back & forth a bunch - watch air bubbles gather in pump reservoir, Shut off, let tiny bubbles dissipate, repeat. Add fluid as necess....
Aireating PS pumps SUCK ASS!!
You get air in the lines/box when you disassemble them and stick em all back together...
Or, bypass the whole box/steering shaft crap & get an orbital valve!:flipoff2:
Back to my hole...
robc10x 08-16-2002, 06:40 AM Fergot to mention, do this w/truck running... DOH!!!
