Can I tow my 86 bronco without a trailer if I put the transfer case in neutral, without damaging the tranny?

I'd pull the drive shaft to be safe :)

ford Ranger t cases have some mechanism in them that allows them to oil with out pulling the dshaft but i don't know about that full size....
