I put an np435 and np205 out of a ford into my grand wagoneer. The crossmember I used was out of the wagoneer and it is bolted to the np435 adapter to the transfercase. Do I need to mount the np205 to anything or will it be ok with it just bolted up to the transmission to transfercase adapter. I have it clocked up flat so that it won't get snagged on rocks.

Should be fine, you have a torque mount off the 205?

you should be fine assuming the mount under your adapter allows at least as much twisting as the motor mounts allow.

how did you clock it flat? pics?

I will post up some pictures tommorrow of how clockedt it is. I used d.d. machine dana 300 clocking ring. I needed to do some cutting to the ring and the transfercase to transmission addapter but it works real good. Not the belly of my wagoneer is flat. But back to the previous question? Do I need to mount the transfercase to anything or just leave it alone? Pictures will be posted tommorow.
