: How does one go about scoring a DEAL on a DC TACO
Chopperman 11-21-2008, 09:43 PM seems like the std cabs have come WAY down in price and seem like a viable option to build a rig ( almost comparable to a 2nd gen ) but I want a DC taco BAD.
Where are the deals on builder trucks ( solid cab, engine, and trans )
Booger Weldz 11-21-2008, 09:56 PM 2wd prerunner version thats been in a small fender bender?
theyre like 10-13k in decent shape with about 7-80k miles around here...cant wait to see what you do with one, what are the plans? fj80 front, dual cases and 35's or something more radical?

I won't build another rig without 60's, atlas, and 40 plus tires.
Most likely leafs for cost and dependability. I know 40's can be done, 42 on a sheet metal rig, will be a stretch. 40's work though.
The rig WILL have AC, DVD, and NAV with topo :smokin:

toy86 03-21-2009, 11:02 AM this thread has me thinking about my next build when I get back from alaska. late model tundras with frontend damage are 1/8 of the normal asking price. Hack the frame off and throw a 60 in the front with coilovers and square tube frame and id have the ballingist $15000 tow rig around

ErikB 07-17-2009, 08:06 PM What's the story with those trucks? None of them look wrecked, but looks like the victim of a driveby or something?
alabamatacomaguy 07-17-2009, 08:45 PM the biohazard sticker on the first one makes me wonder why they wouldnt list the damage source for it
watch it be from mythbusters and they bleed out a pig or something in there to prove they could clean it then they gave up and sold it to salvage
Rugger99 07-22-2009, 09:23 AM the biohazard sticker on the first one makes me wonder why they wouldnt list the damage source for it
looks like someone was shot while sitting in the drivers seat. Whoever buys that truck will need to strip out the entire interior, sanitize it, then replace the seats, headliner and carpet...the cost of that alone won't be cheap.
Blue MT. SnowRunner 07-22-2009, 09:37 AM Best place I know of for salvage rigs is www.copart.com

????
just a lil blood:flipoff2:
alabamatacomaguy 07-22-2009, 05:02 PM it does look like that i didnt notice before just saw the towels down, that looks like a bullet hole through the driver window,
wouldnt bother me to much if i was going to get it, i would strip the interior like what was said and i would make sure to take off anything the previous owner had on it to keep from being mistaken as that person incase someone still wants to unload in them
Rugger99 07-22-2009, 06:39 PM just a lil blood:flipoff2:
Yeah....whats a little Hepatitis C and a dose of the "secret ninja" (da HIV) amongst friends.........:flipoff2:
