I have the TSM Rear Disc Kit:

I dont know which calipers I have, as the kit was already on the truck when I got it, and I forgot what the previous owner had told me:

As you can see this 9.5" Metric rubber line has a pretty big bulge in it, and its leaking at the caliper, so it is in need of replacement. TSM wants $50 for a pair and then I have to wait for shipping. Is there anything I could pick up at NAPA that would work in this application? Also if anyone can ID my caplipers (Chevelle, El Dorado, or Chevy Truck?) that would be great.

That's what I hate about some of these "custom" kits - your hands are tied to THEM when it comes time to replace parts :(

Good luck finding the right part... have you tried pulling one off and taking it to a REAL parts store - one with a big counter and most of the parts are behind that, not out front?

that's a std. gm caliper. I think that hose is off a gm car. go to a parts store that still has counter manuals and you can get them to pick you a hose like that out of their books. if you go to the gen4x4 section and search that hose was discussed a while back.

If you guys say it is a standard line - is it standard, or metric, or how are the converting it over?

dave, it's a stock hose off of something like a monte carlo I think. it has std. threads on the ends but I think there is either a screw on or flare on adapter as part of the kit.

A flare adapter makes sense - in that you would have to cut and re-flare the stock lines to shorten them anyway...

I think a Raybestos part number BH38149 will have the needed banjo fitting for the caliper and 10mm x 1.0mm double flare for the Toyota hard line...The number is from memory, so check it with a catalog...I think it is for a nissan 280x with rear discs or something like that...

the end is a nissan style end with the correct threads, but the retaining method is slightly different than the Toyota. I have had luck reaming out the metal tab ont he axle and putting a bit more arch on the retaining clip.

Great, im not worried about retaining, im sure I can figure out some way to make it work, I just wanted to be sure the threads match up. Ill tear everything out today and go down to the parts store. This little nissan hose could really come in handy for everyone that runs this TSM kit.

It is also NAPA Part #: UBP38149
They list it as $13.69. that beats the hell out of $50 from TSM.

I am using a stock front samurai brake line, they usually get tossed when lifting one.
