: what do you think my rig is worth?
offroadr35 08-13-2002, 08:10 AM here's the deal, i'm about to start building a buggy. My plan is to wheel my bronco for a year or so until the buggy is done and then sell the bronco. I'm just wondering what you think i can realistically get for my bronco, this will help me decide what i can spend on the buggy. Specs are as follows:
93 5.0 SEFI that runs AWESOME, C4, twin sticked D20, RR60s rear welded, front detroit, 5.13s, hydro assist steering, custom 2" DOM cage by rockstomper with removable speedglas windshield, custom front "wristed" arm suspension built by Rockstomper (very similar to Coby Hugly's arms), BC 5.5" coils up front, not sure what the rear leafs are from, interior completely rhino lined, summit seats with covers and 5pt camlock belts, biggest tuffy box in the rear, xena underhood welder, 38.5x14.5x16.5 SX with fullsize spare. Warn x8000i with masterpull rope and hook. I'm sure there's more but i can't think of it right now. Here's a pic

emsoffroad 08-13-2002, 09:11 AM I don't know how things sell out in Cali. but back here built rigs don't go for alot more then stock or slightly lifted. You might be best off using the big money parts on your buggy. It is hard to sell a complete rig and even think of breaking even, or even get close. You may want to pull the 5.0, 60s, and hydo. Then replace with stock parts. Then as clean as it looks (if it is as nice as it seems in the pic)you should be able to get around $4-5 k.
joes75bronco 08-13-2002, 09:44 AM how much money have you put in it?
I'd say ~7000??? a guess... no that cant be right....
8 or 9... very nice ride... I remember seeing it on classicbroncos.. I like it a lot
offroadr35 08-13-2002, 10:07 AM i was thinkin about pulling things but i really want to go with a big block and mog axles  :p

Rerard 08-13-2002, 10:08 AM Id say at least 5k, iv seen stock ones for that... EBs are very desirable and getting harder to find these days.
synds9 08-13-2002, 10:10 AM we live in cali.. if you go to http://www.classiccartrader.com alot of "nice looking rigs" with a lift and some other shit go for about 20k.. i think for yours you could go for atleast 12k . cause personally that truck looks sick... just curious why you've decided to go to full on buggy?

yeah i was hoping to get around 12k for it. I just scored a deal on a tube chassis and i think it would be a really fun project. i know after wheelin the bronco for another year or so i'll be ready to move onto something else. I like new toys...

DAMN!!!!! She has a GREAT body. Can we see the rest of her. hahahahaha.
In all seriousness, it is VERY hard to sell a trail rig. If I were you, I would try to get a real windshield back on there, and sell it as a daily driver/wheeler. You would ahve MUCH better luck taht way. I had a flatfender all set up for rockcrawling. I mean 60,s 38's small block, 300, 420, 1/4 ellip rear,... Onkly got 7000 for it. Make it both adn you will get more.

offroadr35 08-13-2002, 04:49 PM what about selling the frame/body/cage? think there's any market for something like that? I guess using the 5.0 and 60s wouldn't be so horrible in a buggy.

What year is the title for the rig and is it in California???
Eric
offroadr35 08-13-2002, 05:05 PM 72, it's registered in CO but is in CA right now. as you know 72 makes it pre-smog. i'm not selling it now...unless someone forks out BIG bucks for it.
-Steve
road1will 08-13-2002, 05:19 PM i think that the 5.0 would make an awesome buggy. i think that you could sell the body/cage/frame for around 3k, hell if i had the cash i would probably buy it.
road1will 08-13-2002, 05:21 PM SHIT i just realized, i have damn near all the parts to build that rig if i could buy the body/cage/frame. i have a nice 302, C4, and D20 that would bolt in, plus a D60 front axle. all i need is a rear end and some suspension and i would be good to go!
Yep, pre-smog was what I was looking for. In Cali it will be worth a bit more than the '74 and newer ones when you decide to sell it. However you might want to look into if it will need to be smoged when transfered into Cali. Once registered here it won't be a problem.

broncorob 08-14-2002, 06:19 AM Really the way to get the most money out of it is to sell it to someone that's not huge into rockcrawling yet. Convince them that it's the shit and that it's worth however much. Someone that you would find here on the board will be too cynical and be like "whatever dude I could build it for half that". It sounds like a very well built truck and whoever buys it will be getting a nice setup. The thing is to be ready to sell it but not in a rush. Put it up for sale and just wait for the right buyer. Someone is willing to pay what you want for it.
