I have just completed my SAS w/44044s and chevys. My comcern is that I will be to top heavy to do any good flexing, also have 3in body lift. Or am i worrying about nothing? I can fit 44s under it with some good rubbing. Axle is 1" forward and the hanger is about a total of 3 1/2" and my shackles are also 3 1/2". Is there any one out there that is running them with out the bottom leaf or 2? I have searched but all the topics and info is about mounting, spring hanger and ect... nothing about leaf removal or top heavy. Yes ima newbie flame away but just give me some of your ever so valuable experince!!:flipoff2:

I have about the same lift as you but I run allot wider axles..........You should consider cutting down your body lift to 1".

Pull out all of the body lift and cut the fire wall as needed to clear the tires you plan to run. Yes your truck is way too tall. The most capable rock rigs are running 37" tires with about 3" - 4" of lift.

I metioned this in the "other" 44044 post here last week.

That will be quite tall! I run 44044's a 5.5" AP's. One leaf gone up front and 2 in the rear, and it does okay I guess, and doesn't feel to tippy now that I am used to having FLEX! :D

I rub with 37's and no body lift, so I wanna see you fit 44's on there with no rubbing and axle 1" forward :flipoff2:

I said the 44s rub good which means they rub more than a little. I can fit the 44s but yes they due rub under slight flex(1 1/2 Ft,floor jack) but not when possing:flipoff2:

Chris, when you took out the 1 front leaf what did you notice if anything in your on road ride as well as your flex?

Ride was much better, but the rear is noticably lower and more cushy. Flex seems better as well. One leaf is going back into the AP's sincethe top will be going on for the cooler months.
