CrEePiNxJ37 11-23-2008, 11:37 PM i figured that it was fairly easy but just wanted to see if anyone had used the hatch window and just put it in not retaining any portion of the hatch. its pretty hard to weld fiberglass to metal. haha just wanted to see pics. and i know its not the best way to get help but i dont want anyone talking shit just want some real inspiration and help. i will look up those keywords soon thanks fella's. lets see some pic's though.:D

Fiberglass/Bondo sticks to metal.. Just get a steel hatch off a newer cherokee, Its less likely to crack then a bondo job.

I have and Ill be damned if I dont have a pic too! I used the rear hatch window with out the hatch and It came out great. I used and Old stainless elevator door for the bottom piece and filled in the sides and top with 14 guage. It needs a little trimming to fix properly but I couldnt be more happy. I gotta figure outta this photobucket shit and resizing pics and then Ill slap a pic up. If I cant get it figured out Ill pm you and send it via email.
CrEePiNxJ37 11-24-2008, 09:59 PM i didn't mean to come being a cocky asshole i just don't want anyone to fill the thread with bullshit. it seems that there is alot of it on here and i just want some good pics and good help. steering me in the right direction. so what im planning on doing is re using the factory rear window from the hatch and just building a new portion behind the seat to utilze the window. if you have any pics please post them it would be greatly appreciated. i have search and searched but haven't had much luck. thanks to everyone. and when i figure out how to get some pic's up here i will. maybe someone could steer me in the right direction for that too. i don't have very good computer skills.

WilBadger 11-25-2008, 02:23 AM All 97+ Cherokees used a metal hatch. The hinges are a different style and internal while the older ones are external. But if you plan on just welded it in place to cover a hole it will do just fine.
Ken Carter / BRUISER 11-25-2008, 06:36 AM ok first .. you must not have searched very hard..
it took me about 20 secs to find this:

which will probably have more info then you will ever need in it.
all I did was type in "moving the hatch" which is the title of your post and the 2nd post is the one I linked..
It really does bother me when people say they have searched and they really have not..
CrEePiNxJ37 11-25-2008, 07:32 AM ok like i said i have searched so you shouldn't let it bother you. i want pictures of people that have utilized the factory hatch window!!! sorry the first post say's something different but i changed my mind a little. and i have seen that thread a while ago good stuff in it but not quite what i was looking for. thanks anyways. anyone that has reused the factory hatch window please post some pics.:D
