Ok, so i have a 400/205 out of a 84 1 ton. It is the 8 bolt style. I just rebuilt the 205 using a lo-max 3-1 kit. Now i am gonna use a round six bolt adapter "since the lo-max case is setup for either" so i can clock the 205 up. My question is the 8 bolt adapter acts as a bearing retainer and has a seal, does the 6 bolt adapter do the same? I do not have my 6 bolt adapter "its on the way" so i cannot look at it and tell. Will i have to buy a bearing retainer w/seal? Also if the 6 bolt adapter does have a seal does anyone have the part# for that seal.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. To hopefully avoid getting my ass chewed, i just spent 2 hrs trying to find the answer to this question, there is a shit load of 205 post on here.
