: Drive flanges
Fullsizexj 11-24-2008, 04:57 AM I am gonna finally swap in some 35 spline stubs into my front 60, after 6 years the 30 spline gave out this last weekend, I don't want to use lockouts again so what brand drive flanges are out there and what are the pros and cons to them
hadfield4wd 11-24-2008, 06:27 AM I was wondering if you would go to flanges.
Fullsizexj 11-24-2008, 06:32 AM by the time I stuff 35 splines in there, it would not leave much meat on the lockouts and then I would be busting them all the time

I think you actually broke your lockout by smashing it on a rock not from torque. Nice rig though.
FrkyMnky1487 11-24-2008, 07:51 AM Polys... You can run it without the drive gear and still run the cover. The machine work is also top notch.
heepr 11-24-2008, 09:34 AM I run the warn drive flanges and they are nice (covers can also be run without the slug in) but they are sometimes hard to remove. it's easy with two flat head screwdrivers and the tire/wheel off, but hard with the tire still on. The poly flanges might be easier to get out since they have holes in them.
ashmanjeepXJ 11-24-2008, 09:46 AM reviews are worthless without pics...:flipoff2:

Fullsizexj 11-25-2008, 09:49 AM I was searching all over for that thread that had that pic, but now that I see it is a Longfield product, I would have passed anyways, Jack would have never forgave me if I ran those especially since I sell his products
Longfield 11-25-2008, 04:27 PM There on sale now, the drive flanges not the display rack.:D
Fullsizexj 11-25-2008, 06:39 PM They would not be any fun without the rack

BrassMunkey4 11-26-2008, 06:49 PM Good choice on the stubs, no more wasted weekends because of those things!
I'm gonna buy Woodys 35 spline inners and outers with Yukon super joints so I wont have to do what you did last weekend. I'm going back the weekend after xmas I think, we should plan another ride, eric wants to go and Nick might still be here
Fullsizexj 11-26-2008, 06:53 PM I definately want to go back out there, keep me posted and I will see what I can do to be there
pipehitter155 11-26-2008, 08:19 PM good choice on the stubs...i haven't had a problem with mine yet....i wheel mine like a pussy though...hopefully i will have my new fenders and stuff built by then...
BrassMunkey4 11-26-2008, 09:00 PM haha you do wheel like pussy, but I was right there with you this weekend. Next trip will be bashfest 2008-9, trying not to break my 44 stuff before I sell it, but it happens
Fullsizexj 11-27-2008, 08:43 AM I will be ready, looking forward to going again
ashmanjeepXJ 11-27-2008, 05:48 PM Which brand stubs did you pick?
Beat95YJ 11-27-2008, 05:50 PM Poly all the way!
Fullsizexj 11-27-2008, 06:09 PM just some yukons for now, we will see how they work out
BROKE_ASS_YJ 11-27-2008, 06:21 PM Good idea to go with the flanges Richard. We keep busting the 35 spline warn premiums left and right, but the Yukon stubs are holding up well.
BTW I still need to get your spindle boring tool back to you.
Fullsizexj 11-27-2008, 07:06 PM I am always here, stop on by some time
