I have a 98 4.0 and Im having some issues with the 5 speed in it. First I noticed it was making a whining noise. Almost like it had a superchager that was gear driven. So I checked the fluid levels. They seemed fine. Took it a transmission shop an they guy test drove it an seems that it could be bad bearings or the gears. Or could be both. Told me it would be in my better interest to find a tranny from the yard.

My question is im fully capable of putting in a new transmission. I called some yards an I can't find one. I was trying to find some information on what years fit it an if I could get a transmission from a Cherokee to fit also. Thanks for any information!
