: ls1 oil pan help what is this for?

the part in red, what does this do? I got a new pan and seeing if i could either just cap the ends, or loop them to each other.

Your oil filter will screw onto whats on the other side of that. Might want to keep that option.

Thats a bad angle. You mean the ports above the oil filter on the outside of the pan? These are oil cooler lines just get a block of plate if not running a cooler.

They should be plugged see below. I can't find the factory plug P/N.

i dont want to do relocate the oil filter housing i belive its on the block but i could be wrong cause the motor is not in front of me. i just wanted the pan cause of the baffles in it

The part you ciricled is the oil filter supply and return lines. The part I m talking about is above the filter itself and is held on with to bolts. Is this what you mean?:confused:

Shit I just looked at some of my stuff and I have a cover off a cracked truck pan you can have!


If you need the cover and bolts, PM me your address and I'll mail it to you. Some people tap it for a oil pressure sender as well.

You could run a remote filter setup and keep that pan. Is that what you don't want to do???

nah, i got it all figured out, i didnt know it it was for a dry set up sorry im good you can delete this post if you like

FYI this is the LS7 dry sump pan :smokin: Note the extra ports on the Pass. side.
