Anyone know offhand of any driveshafts that are 5.5" longer than the 83CJ7's? As I'm sure you can guess, I'm about to stretch with XJ leafs front and rear. ..It's my weekend warrior and daily driver, so I'm not 100% comfortable building my own without a proper balance, and I'm definitely not 100% comfortable spending $1000 for some customs..
..After a quick Googling, it looks as though a 96-era Explorer rear should fit a stretched CJ7 in the front, anyone know for sure?
What about in the rear?

bump. I'll let this die tomorrow if no one can answer me today.
I wish OEM's would provide dimensions of the parts rather than selling specifically by application. I run into this problem all the time and can't fucking afford to buy a Chilton's for every different Make of part I'm gonna use on my CJ.
if you have an SYE you can run a front explorer DS on both ends, just have it shortened to your needs. why cant you have a DS shop lengthen yours?

Dana 300s already have a fixed yoke. What motor and trans do you have? You could probably use a CJ8 driveshaft.

Yeah, D300 thankfully.
The drivetrain is stock length for an 83 CJ7. But to specify, it's the 258 with a 4.0 head and a T5 with no 5th or reverse(while I rebuild the T4 with no 1st or 2nd, haha.) ..The cost of having a driveshaft adjusted would be pretty much the same price as a Tom Woods, seeing as how I'm stuck in Italy til 2011.
