Friends of Eldorado National Forest (FOE) is working with Court
Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of El Dorado County, who work for the
children that are in the county’s legal system.
This gift drive is to help children who would otherwise be left
behind this holiday season and for the children of parents who are trying to get back on their feet and may not have the $$ for gifts. The Active 20/30 Club helps the youngest ones, but the teenagers are often left under-served. Each child receives gifts worth approximately $50, and FOE’s goal is to give the teenagers gift cards to local merchants. Ideally, all of us could give a $50
gift card, but we understand that money is tight for everyone this season, so we suggest mix-and-match of smaller-value cards. As an example, if you can only afford a $10 Walmart card, we can combine this with someone else’s $15 Jamba Juice card donation, and someone else’s $25 card for the Placerville movie house, and the teen would receive 3 card adding up to $50.
We have about 40 teenagers to cover, and a few families who need
other things. Can you please help make this holiday season great for the kids of El Dorado County?
I will add to this post as the need comes in from CASA. Each person
that gives will be written a thank you card from that child.
Examples of merchants who have gift cards that fit teens well:

· T-J Maxx
· Walmart
· Jamba Juice
· Movie Passes
· McDonalds
