Quick question.I've got a 79 f-250,that usually runs fine.Last month it started to run shitty and the exhaust started to stink.I pulled the carb to inspect/rebuild and found the gas in it orange.I drained the tanks and rebuilt the carb, and all was good(so I figured I just got some bad gas).Over the next month I changed the fuel filter and ran a couple of tanks of gas through.Last week I noticed it is starting to do the same thing again,so I pulled the carb off and the gas is orange again, only this time the gas is not cloudy and it's not as discolored as last time I checked it.So to my question, what do you think is causing this??Rusty gas tanks(I try to switch between the two tanks every fill-up)any other possible causes??
Here's a pic of the gas color

Does the fuel itself stink? Also how long have you owned the truck? if the tank got that bad and rusted that bad either usually it sat for a long time and or had a lot of water in it.
Just my experience.

The fuel I pulled out of the carb does stink ,not that bad though,I refueled it last week.I've had the truck for a little over 2 years, thats what is confusing me how could the tank just all of sudden rust and cause problems.I'm gonna pull both tanks and see whats going on.There is probably rust in the tanks and maybe something broke loose or something.

that doesnt look rusty. It looks old. Rusty usually has small things floating in the fuel. Old usually looks just more yellow. If some old gas was still in the tank it could cause a discoloration of the fuel.
Ive noticed that "open air" gas usally turns color fast. I have a 91 mazda that would do that in two weeks with a fresh tank because it wasnt sealed. Same gas in my F150 didnt change. Its probably something else causing problems, not rust. Cut open the fuel filter to be sure (if its not clear)...
