I just picked up a 2002 dodge 3500. I noticed the front 60 doesn't have the axle disconnect on it. It looks like Dodge has givin up on the sliding coupler idea. Not sure about the 2500's D60's, does anyone know?. A full time 3/4 ton version would be a good candidate for a swap since its a drivers side diff, especially with a D70/D80 rear. Of course manual hubs would be nice, but from the looks of mine you would have to replace the outers and stub shaft.

on the 3500 axles i have looked at from late model dodges, have just been a 3/4 ton width with a big spacer bolted on from the factory. i have never seen one that didn't have the axle dicconnect from 94 up. but i haven't been under the brand new ones. mike

Yep.
'02 2500s don't have a disconnect, either. I'm pretty sure it has the non-servicable unit-bearing spindles, though (I think they've had these since '94, but not sure).

I was under the impression that the new HD dodges weren't going to have a 60. They were supposed to have axles made by someone other than Dana, but they'd be comparable to the D60/D80 combo they ran up to now.

i think that the '03 (all new) HD trucks are going to have AAM axles (maker of the 14 bolt), but not the '02s.
