86 Cherokee 2.8V6/904 NP207.
Decided I would part this XJ out and use a few parts on my 88 4.0 (body parts & interior). Like most good salvage yards I have a set of Hollander books.
According to my books it says 84-85 have a different transmission output shaft spline then 86, yet all three years use a NP207. Book says all interchange by including the T-case.
I sold the 904,customer is going to use Dana 300, and have the NP207 on the ground. I am going to stack it with the NP207 S-10 cases (I have enough to stack em like firewood). Just want to mark it properly before putting it up.
My question is whats the input spline count on a 84-85 case and whats the input spline count on the 86 case?
