It was a very quiet weekend at the Con. Lots of Toyotas this weekend and the majority that tried it through the sluice made it. Jeeps were having a difficult time, 2 broke in the box, 1 broke coming down Toyota Rock towing a trailer and broke down at the bottom (driveline snapped). I didn't see one Jeep make it through the Sluice this weekend.

On the way out from Spider, saw a Bronco being towed out. My son sold two motor mounts to someone who was broke down. Someone broke their pitman arm and was looking for a replacement. On our son's truck his drag link was bent like a pretzel going through the rock garden (my daughter was driving his truck <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0"> ).

Friday night an elderly man had a heart attack at Loon Lake Dam and had to be airlifted out.

We talked with two El Dorado Sheriff's and they said a man in his late 70's met up with them at the Ellis Creek. Apparently he was lost and had been wandering around the hills there for two days without food or water. He was trying to get back to Wentworth Springs where his car was parked. They gave him some food and water and took him back to Loon where a Forest Ranger gave him a ride back to his car.

On our way out, a member of the Auburn 4-wheeling club was looking for a young woman who took the wrong turn off on foot (headed towards Wentworth). Her boyfriend was frantic!! A lot of searching for her went on. She found her way back to the slabs and her boyfriend chewed her butt out! Apparently she thought she knew her way around the mountains even though she had never been there before. He said he was 5-minutes away from calling for Search & Rescue.

IT WAS A FULL MOON OUT THIS WEEKEND--LOT'S OF KOOKY THINGS WENT ON!
