I removed my waterpump but can't figure out how to take the fan off. Does anyone know how?

If you have a serp belt set-up you may need something like this... It's reverse thread.

careful. they're not all left hand thread. the one on my 98 is right hand thread.

You don't really need special tools either. just use an air chisel with a dull bit on the flat of the nut to loosen it, it will spin right off. A man-screwdriver and hammer will also work, but not as easily.

Edit-the above method will work assuming the water pump is still attached to the engine. if you have it off, put it in a vise.

Serpentine engines are NOT left-hand thread, the non-serpentine engines ARE left-hand thread.

Jam a screwdriver between one of the pulley bolts and the pulley and use big-ass wrench to take it off. You'd be amazed how similar to the Land Rover tool a screwdriver against one of the bolts is! The tool Scott showed sometimes makes the job easier, on some variations, there is barely enough room between the pulley and the fan, but you shouldn't have a problem on a '98 Disco.
