Don't worry, no stupid questions. Been lurking on the site for a few weeks now and finally decided to join. There are a ton of sick rigs on this site and a whole lot of good information. I've got a lot of IH's and a lot of plans.

My 67 800. Currently spring-over (still needs finishing), 196, 3 speed, Dana 20 and waiting for 35's. Going to get Scout II Dana 44's eventually and body work to make it presentable. Going to be built as a cruiser and for mild trail use.

This is my 69 800A, got it when I was 10 and it's what got me into IH's. It's currently under the knife and I'm picking up 3/4 ton Chevy axles for it and some 42" IROKS this upcoming week. Not sure what it's going to have for a drivetrain yet, but I'm thinking big block Chevy or a 455 Olds...maybe even a Caddy 500. It'll be a good pirate build.

That's it, hope to learn a lot from you guys as well as share my work. Hope everyone had a good Turkey day.

I've also got a 73 Scout II that was under 2 cars at the junkyard that still runs/drives, no pics of that yet. I know they aren't quite pirate material yet...but give it time. Thanks for the welcome, guys.

The blue 67 is going to be a resto-mod truck. The body is VERY hurt, but it runs beautifully, has a clear title, and it has sentimental value. The plan for that one is a street legal but capable truck. Want to run locked Scout II 44's, Scout II springs (4" spring under?), and somewhere in the 33-35" tire size range. I want to keep the 196 but turbocharge it and have that backed by a 4 speed. There will be tons of little mods here and there.

The orange 69 has a lot of sentimental value too as it was my first 4WD vehicle and my first Scout. I got it 10 year ago at the ripe age of 10. This one has no title and its always been my off-road toy, so its staying that way. I'm picking up 3/4 ton Chevy axles for it next week as well as 42" Iroks. The inner structure type thing is going to be removed with a hoop connected to a rollcage for mounting the fenders and radiator. Motor is going to be something big and somewhat different, I'm thinking along the lines of 454 Chevy, 455 Olds, or 472/500 Caddy. Transmission will most likely be a TH-400 and an NP205. Going to try and keep a low center of gravity somewhat with lots of fender Cutting but other than all the trimming, it will be a full bodied, full frame truck.

The parts one is donating a lot of parts. It too is pretty far gone but has no sentimental value so it will keep the two that do have it going. Before going to the junkyard it will be COMPLETELY stripped of anything good, I hate seeing good IH parts go to waste.

If ya haven't yet rear the FAQ, do so, there is a ton of great info and just about every build in the last four or five years, some complete and some abandoned.

I've read about it on the BB, seems like a PITA with the cut and turn and all that. I really want to keep that Scout all IH though.

Thanks for the welcome.

You can keep it all IH as long as you dont mind mediocre and expensive.

Don't believe the hype. It is all BS . Once you start doing it you realize it is easy. Just take your time and have the foreknowledge of just tacking everything until you know for sure it is where you want it.
