I am running down to the spring shop to get ubolts for my front u bolt flip to work with my stock waggys. Do I need to run square bent ones on the long side(85 w/gusset) or can I run standard U on both sides? This is for a daily driver so I dont want to take to many chances when safety is a concern.

I run standard "U" shaped bolts on my 85 front end. Never had a problem.

That was the nice thing about doing a solid axle swap. I brought the empty housing and the U-bolt plates down to a local spring shop, and they happened to have a wheeler-wannabe TJ owner working there that was happy to help me out, we bent up some perfect shaped ones, incuding that funky passengers-inner one.

I also went with the round ones...I did not like they way the square ones wanted to walk to the rear since they would not sit flat and they wont since the gusset is not actually square..especially if your axel it turned/degreed...I used 5/8" ubolts that popped right on.
